Flat Tyres
It always seems to happen when you’ve got a meeting or somewhere you’re supposed to be. We walked out to the car the other day on our way to Brisbane (150kms from home) only to find we had a flat tyre.
We quickly changed the tyre and off we went to Brisbane, running late for our meeting and without a spare tyre should we get another flat. We didn’t give a thought to interpreting the message the Universe was sending. As I look back now I could speculate on lots of possibilities, but the reality is, we missed our opportunity to accurately interpret the message we were sent.
But all was not lost. Like the understanding parent, the Universe gave us another opportunity. The next week we got another flat tyre. The Universe was giving us chance to try again at interpreting its message. We hadn’t had a flat tyre for years and then we get two in a week. We’d just bought a brand new car, which my wife Anne was driving. We hadn’t even done 500kms yet. And neither of us had any idea how to get the spare off or where the jack was stored. So after consulting manuals and quite a bit of trial and error, we finally got the flat off and the spare on.
But during this process we also took the time to discuss why we had a flat tyre.
What was she thinking?
Anne had been thinking about a potential new business associate who was quoting on some work we wanted done. She realised that she really didn’t relate to him and felt very down from a recent meeting with him -or to put it another way, she felt flat when thinking about him doing this important work for us. Based on this, we didn’t go ahead with this relationship and went looking for someone else to do the job, even though the original man was very experienced in the field.
We have since found someone much more approachable who is doing exactly what we want. We’re really happy with the outcome and once again have thanked spirit for the message.
